We took a few short trips this summer, so I'll post pictures from each one (now that it's officially fall!). In July, we went to the Alsea River with friends from here and Humboldt - the same place we went to last year. Below, Joe and Petra, our friend's daughter Eva, and new (to us) friends who came over from Idaho.
Petra and Griffin...
The Alsea River.
Pika had a little fun too.
It was still a little cool - just at the edge of actual summer weather here in Oregon, but the river felt great. We all got some nice swimming in, and Petra had a blast.
A real campfire and roasted marshmallows, of course. We watched the stars come out and Petra serenaded everyone with Twinkle Twinkle little Star.
Our host, Roberto (Zena's father), gave lessons on making tamales. Possibly the best I've ever had.
Zoom in on Petra's face if you can. She's ecstatic on being in the boat!
