What we did for our summer vacation, Part III cont'd.

We put some serious time in with sand castle-building. Petra supervised of course.

She loved to sprinkle "parmesan cheese" on the castles, which inspired me to make a sand pizza. At one point Petra said, "We're having a party!"
And we finally took advantage of the local cuisine and bought a couple of dungeness crabs. Pretty darn good. Petra was fascinated in the process and the shell, but not that into eating it.

The house has a new fire pit outside, which we took advantage of.
We headed down to the tide pools at Haystack Rock.
For our last night at the coast, we headed down to Beverly Beach State Park to camp overnight before heading to the Oregon Coast Aquarium at Newport.

The aquarium was pretty darn cool.
