New Year's in the snow

We spent a good 5 days over the New Year's weekend at our friends the Sarmac/Clarks house at Black Butte Ranch with a third family, the Heiggelkes. Cora was by far the youngest, but having a tribe of kids for Petra to play with was a ton of fun for her and a bit of a relief for us! (it takes a village...)

Cora really worked on lifting her head. Fun to see!

We didn't do much except hang out in front of the fire, sit in the hot tub (I can finally soak!), and go sledding. Petra was only interested in the "bunny" sledding hill, aka the shorter driveway. She adsorbed some of the fun from the older kids, though. When I went down the big hill (ending over the berm) she would call out from the top: "Did you catch air, Mama?" She loved sampling as many icicles and as much snow as she could.

The highlight (so to speak) may have been the glow stick dance party for New Year's Eve ("NY New Year's"). And the grown-ups actually made it to midnight Pacific time! A great way to start the year.
