Fall pics

Fall in Portland means lots of chances to paint pumpkins, like at the apple tasting festival at Portland Nursery.

Also, fall fashion is in effect.

Everyone needs an extra blanket for sleeping...

And we spend a little more time indoors.

We carve pumpkins (they need naps apparently, too)...
And dress for Halloween. Petra was a giraffe. She had fun trick or treating, though she was ready to be done by the 3rd or 4th house -- too many weird grown-ups wearing masks and scary noises and lights coming from people's porches.

She did like the candy, however. Every night since Halloween she's been enjoying all these candy brands she's never tried before, like "in-eh-mens" (M&M's) and Junior Mints (which taste "flavory").

She goes at it with the focus and intensity of a wine connoisseur.

Also, we had a chance to see Elizabeth Mitchell perform, which was really fun.
Petra loved it and wanted to get right down front, into the toddler mosh pit.
