Trying to catch up a bit from a crazy few weeks. We had a big birthday bbq bash planned where we would celebrate Petra turning 2, and me turning... um, more than 2. The night before the party, Petra came down with a stomach bug, so I canceled.
And... then we all came down with it. We spent the weekend sleeping and being sick. Before Joe left for Alaska, we rallied for a much smaller happy birthday party, which was really nice, and a lot less hectic. We barbequed burgers and I made the Monkey cake I had planned to make -- banana cake with chocolate icing.
And Petra and Griffin had a great time eating cake (Griffin said he was "sad" his piece was gone), and playing in the sandbox.
