East Coast trip

About a month ago (before the bad cold/ear infection plague that swept the house) we took a trip to visit our East Coast family. In nine days, we visited three states - CT, NY, NJ. We first stayed with my sister Kerrie and her husband and three kids in Cos Cob, CT, and my parents came up from PA to stay with us. The picture below is at about 11pm on the night we arrived (8pm our time) and Petra was still raring to go, long after we were all ready for bed.

We had a lot of fun swimming at the indoor pool during Petra's cousins swim lessons, and going to the children's museum.
Petra got to pretend to be a mad scientist.

A perfect Petra-sized slide, with Grandpa Steele supervising.

Aunt Kerrie is good at peeling oranges.

Group photo before Nana and Grandpa headed back to PA - Petra was sad to see them go.

The trip involved a lot of time in the car! Petra loved the dvd player in Nana's minivan. Sadly, none of the other cars had one (she kept asking to watch Curious George...).

The next stop on our Tri-State Area Tour was Saugerties, NY to visit Joe's sister and family. Petra's cousins Jimmy and Danny had fun showing Petra how to bowl, and play ring around the rosie.

Uncle Jim is also known as the Baby Whisperer.

We took a walk to visit a nearby horse farm, and Jimmy and Danny tried to show Petra how to skip rocks in a creek, which she loved. (I'm not sure she got the skipping part, but she loved watching us throw them in the water)

Last stop was to Wyckoff, NJ to visit more of Joe's family.

They had the most amazing playground there -- the coolest sandbox I've ever seen, with all kinds of trucks and wheeled toys there for the sharing.

We visited Grandpa Liebezeit, Aunt Toni and Uncle Pete...

Aunt Winnie and Uncle Jerry were kind enough to put us up.

It was great to visit family, but also nice to be home!
