No one is safe from the Nap Pusher

Petra is very concerned that everyone is this house, including the cat and dog and all of her dolls (from Elmo to the polar bear), are not getting enough sleep. When we walk into a room these days, it's pretty common to see all of her dolls laid out face down, with Petra hovering over them adjusting their blankets or patting their backs (probably what she sees at daycare). Or Toby the cat, in his infinite patience, covered in dish towels. Even Joe and I aren't safe - she'll look at us imploringly and say "Daddy seep" or "Mommy seep". It's pretty adorable, and not a bad excuse to lay around on the floor for a while.

Her language is also really taking off. She's now speaking in phrases, like "more milk please" or "open door" or "gahbage tuk" (she loves watching for big trucks out the front windows), and tries to mimic everything we say. She has a few words that she repeats over and over again that we haven't quite figured out what they mean, though they obviously have meaning for her. Words like "how-ay" or "shee-shee". And when she really wants to make us understand something, she'll fill in the rest of the sentence with (what sounds to us like) gibberish. So you'll hear "Doweeooffuperreee cheese?"

Here are a few more photos and videos from the last month or so.
