It's hard to believe she's broken the double digit threshold already, and her mouth is quickly filling with chompers! Her top 2 came in over the last week or so, and the 2 on either side of those look like they're thinking about it as well. She's been handling it pretty well - we've only had to resort to Motrin [aka, baby crack] a few times.
Every day she's a little better at crawling and pulling herself up on things and cruising. And every day we move things, like plants and breakable things, a little higher.
She down to 2 naps a day, although each is longer so she gets about the same amount of nap-time as before. There's also something called the 9-month sleep regression she seems to be in the midst of that's thrown in a few wacky wakeful times (like 2am, or 10pm) just to keep things interesting. The idea is that their developmental leaps and bounds - those we can see, like crawling, and those we can't, like new pathways being laid down in the brain - get in the way of sleep. [I was reading recently that the increase in a baby's head size in their first year or two is purely from new connections being formed - it has nothing to do with gaining mass. Amazing!]
She's having more fun with finger foods (some of it actually makes it into her mouth) and trying some new foods, like chicken, although she's also showing new preferences, too (a firm no! to collard greens...). Her new favorite is avocado (takes after Grandpa Steele!).
Here are a few favorite photos and videos from the past month.
