What we did for Christmas vacation...

...was spend a whole lot of time in planes and cars! (no trains though) We made it through 6 states in 15 days (if you count driving through Maryland and Delaware, which I do) with a 7 month old.
We started at Joe's Aunt Winnie and Uncle Jerry's in New Jersey, then went to upstate NY to stay with his sister Anne Marie and her family, over to my sister Kerrie and family for Christmas weekend in CT (where all my siblings and parents gathered).

On the Sunday of that weekend we went to the annual Steele reunion at my cousin's place in Mountainside, NJ (super-efficient - meeting 70 family members at once!), after stopping to visit Joe's brother and sister-in-law in Bergenfield. From there we headed down to my parents' place in southeastern PA (hence the MD and DE sweep) with the rest of the family (except for Tracy, who had to head back to CA).

We stayed there for a few days, fattening up before we headed back to NJ to visit Joe's cousin and family for lunch before staying with his childhood friends and their families for the venerable tradition of "gameage" (they kicked my butt at hearts), and back through Aunt Winnie and Uncle Jerry's before flying out of Newark again. Whew!

Petra was amazingly portable-- she loves to people watch and see new sites-- so she adapted well to meeting new people and staying in different places. She slept really well, too, I think because she just wore herself out every day with all the new stimulation! She also really started to enjoy peek-a-boo, clapping hands, and waving, and all out laughing! Very fun.

I posted photos from our trip here, and also a few from before Christmas vacation here.
