Uncle Charlie visits

Joe's brother Charlie came to visit, and we decided to head up to Hood River for the day.

We picked peaches (which later became a pie and raspberry-peach jam) and found some goats to pet. It was the same farm we went to when Petra was first born, and we hadn't been back since - it was fun to be back.

Then we stopped at a place that raises alpacas and spins and sells yarn. I bought some really soft yarn there, and plan to make a holiday gift with it (or keep it for myself!).

I think Petra liked feeding the alpacas more than the goats - they were a bit gentler. The woman who worked there said they're really easy to raise - the cats of the livestock world?

Then we stopped at a u-pick flower place, where we cut a bunch of dahlias for cheap.

Our final stop was in Hood River for ice cream.

Petra and Charlie had a good time together.
