Winter holidays: the prequel

This year, we were sure to take our Thomas the Tank Engine addict to the holiday express train again. It's a steam engine that runs for a few miles along the riverfront each year in early December. There are lots of Christmas lights strung throughout, candy canes and hot chocolate, and even Santa Claus!

I now know more about trains than I ever thought I would. This engine is one of three historic steam engines that they're building a new roundhouse for. The whole event is a fundraiser for the rail heritage foundation and everyone staffing it volunteers their time.

Also, Petra and I made salt dough ornaments for her cousins, which was super easy and fun.
