Holidays, Pt. III

Soon after Christmas, we started the road trip portion of our journey. Three states in a week! Petra was a trooper. We started in upstate NY to visit the Millers, Joe's sister and her husband and two adorable kids.

Joe's old friend from college (the "Rev." who married us) came down from NH as well, so it was a great few days in the Hudson River Valley.

The night we arrived, Jimmy and Danny wrote Petra full's name out of play-dough -- not an insignificant task!
She was happy to smash them as soon as she could.
We went to a very cool playground nearby.
Took a walk to see the horse farm.

Her cousins humored Petra by playing Thomas the Tank Engine episodes (I think they enjoyed it too).

And spent a little time at Pete and Toni's after the memorial service for Joe's dad.

While we were back in Bergen County, we stayed with Joe's aunt and uncle Winnie and Jerry's, and met up with his old friends from junior high, who also have adorable kids.

Then a swing through CT on New Year's Eve to stay with the Rubins. We had delicious tapas dishes for dinner, and the kids got to watch lots of videos (including Return of the Jedi, after Petra went to sleep).
Uncle Joe jammed with Lev on the flute.
From CT, we looped through Blairstown to have lunch with the Leal clan before heading back to Landenberg. Unfortunately, I never took out the camera, but cousin Karen came to visit a few days later!

More quality time with Nana, Grandpa, and Boca before we had to pack up and head home.
