A few recent happenings

About a month ago, we went back to our favorite stretch of coastline at Gearhart, where Petra caught some air. The weather was amazing - clear and sunny for much of the weekend.

We seem to luck out with good weather on our February trips there with our friends Bill, CL, and Griffin. I hope we'll continue the tradition.

You can see more photos from our trip here.

Since I had to be away for work the weekend before Joe's birthday, we decided to take a day off together on a Tuesday to go to the children's museum (Petra's first time playing hookey!). They had an amazing life-sized lite-brite exhibit that Petra loved (...we had to make do with the tabletop version - kids today!).

Petra enjoyed playing with clay...

and water...

and meeting Curious George!

We made our own art project at home on a rainy afternoon. Have you ever added water to a bowl of cornstarch? Not quite solid, not quite liquid, definitely fun to get all over you and everywhere around you (we added food coloring, too). It was very fun, but next time we'll probably do this out on the patio!

Lately, Petra has been into trying on other peoples' shoes, from her Mama's...

to her cousin Molloy's that she has yet to grow into...

We're looking forward to seeing our east coast family soon!
