Over the past couple of weeks, we've been playing with new textures. Christmas was a good excuse for glitter and sprinkles, but it seemed like the time had come for play-dough. I cooked it up on the stove and I was amazed at how easy it was - even scratched my itch to bake since it involved a little kneading. And I had yellow and green food coloring buried in the pantry, so that's what she started with (although by now it's one lime green blob).
Next was glitter - we made cards for her cousins - and she managed to eat quite a bit of it despite my best efforts (no glittery diapers yet, though).
And later in the same day, we made cut-out sugar cookies. She LOVED the sprinkles (who doesn't?) and helping me press down the cookie cutters and sprinkle the sprinkles. Letting her eat sprinkles was the best way I found to keep her from eating too much raw dough, so by the end, her face was completely red and green. And she was very happy to be able to eat the result, once they were actually done and cooled (and boy that seemed like forever to her!).
