Petra's birthday!

We had a little party for Petra last weekend: cupcakes for the kids, sangria for the adults. A few friends brought over outside toys like a see-saw and slide, so we had a fun carnival in the back for the two-foot tall set. Pika was willing to share her agility tunnel, but we couldn't convince any of the toddlers to make it over her agility jump. Petra had a lot of fun with the rocking horse in particular.

She also loved her cupcake - it was carrot cake with cream cheese icing. She liked the icing best, not surprisingly. We took video, but need to process it a bit before we post it.

She is growing and changing so quickly! She's been playing around with standing on her own, and just started lurching from one place to another (a couple of feet) without holding on to anything. I think it won't be long before she's walking... (yikes!) She's also communicating more and more. In addition to Mama and Dada, she'll say "Pie-ka" or sometimes "Ka!" for Pika, and "Daa" for dog. She's also started saying "bahk" which we think means book. Her favorite word to say is "bye" which usually means going somewhere, like a walk to the park. She'll point to the jackets hanging on the hook and say "byeee".

Here are a few photos and videos.
