Half a year

It's hard to believe Petra is six months old already. I look back at photos of her from 6 weeks, or 12 weeks, and she looks the same now, only... more so. There's more personality in her features, and in her expressions. It's fun to watch her develop and change, but scary how fast it's all going! Here's a link to a few photos.
George and Fair were here last weekend. George is Joe's friend from college who became a reverend online so he could who marry us (apparently you no longer need to go to the back of a Rolling Stone magazine). They enjoyed getting to know Petra, and they also stood as witnesses to a naming ceremony we had for Petra at our local buddhist temple (sort of a christening -- not a baptism, although there was water involved).
George really wanted to see the Oregon coast, since they never made it out there when they were here four years ago. We headed out to our friend Mary's house in Gearhart. While we were there, winds got up to 90 mph. Petra and I stayed warm and cozy at the house, while Joe, George, Fair and Pika ventured out to the beach. They didn't stay long, and when they came back, they had sand in more places than you can imagine. George and Fair have quite a beach story to take back with them to New Hampshire.
